Therese Frank and Christine Altimeter are hosting another "Time to
Stitch, Number 4" and only now have I jumped on the band wagon (I missed 1-3). Generally I don’t follow a pattern or for that matter any
particular stitch but every once in a while it is nice to perfect the basics.
First up - Net Stitch -I
have always liked the look of the net stitch, so light and lacy. A net stitch collar is a simple yet stunning piece
that adds elegance to any outfit. I have made several net stitch
collars all quite unique.
Next is the Spiral
Stitch
Oh the spiral
stitch, I just love the fluid movement ….and now that I have discovered Dutch
Spiral…well I just couldn’t stop, I even got my sister making one. The spiral rope
is so versatile and because of its versatility I often use it to finish a piece
with great results.
....and more spiral
Chevron
I haven’t
used the chevron stitch much but now that I have given it a try I can see there
will be ways to incorporate this stitch into other projects.
Last but not least the Chenile
stitch which makes a nice rope, very flexible and sturdy. I can see this being used in a lariat with
great success!
This was
such a fun challenge and I must say I learned a lot on the journey. Thanks Therese and Christine for hosting and
letting me join the party.

Wow . .you have been busy! Those netted collars are fabulous. I also love how such a simple stitch can look so elegant and those necklaces can dress up any outfit.
ReplyDeleteI love the spiral bracelets as well and the spiral necklaces look so lush.
The chevron and chenille necklaces is beautiful as well.
There is not one piece of jewelry here that I would not wear with pride! Oh my...I cannot get over how beautiful these are! Simple elegant - especially that last one...WOW!
ReplyDeleteYou have made some beautiful creations. I have wanting to try these stitches. You have inspired me! Fabulous work!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow - you were industrious! Every piece is wearable and lovely. You've prompted me to try the Cellini spiral - one I've always admired but not yet tried. Gorgeous beadwork!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe how many pieces you made! They are all gorgeous, that orange spiral bracelet is so striking!
ReplyDeleteYou must see beads in your sleep! Each and every piece is goregous! The spirals are so funky/colorful/playful and you do them So Well. And the netting collars...the bugle one is my favorite but the turquoise one is a close second. And I would absolutely wear the first one too. They are gorgeous! I have only ever done a double chevron but seeing yours and a few others makes me realize it can be more versatile as a single. And the chenille is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteYour donut with the fringe coming out of the hole is fantastic! Thanks for signing up for this!
A lot of beautiful beadwork. I am really impressed by all your pieces.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love those Dutch spirals! And you really showed how pretty the spiral rope is, as well as the chenille!
ReplyDeleteYou must have lightening fingers! Or a power needle, lol! The netting stitch is one of my favorites, although I haven't tried it for a collar yet. Yours are beautiful. I will confess to attempting the Dutch spiral in a class hosted by Nancy Zellars years ago in Denver Colorado. Key word being "attempt"!! That orange spiral bracelet is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYour netted collars are fantastic! I love all of them. And, your other necklaces are beautiful, too. I'm partial to spiral ropes so I love all of your Dutch spirals. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteWow Debbie that is a lot of pieces. They are all beautiful. The turquoise one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes, girl, that is a LOT of beautiful beading there! I'm with you about Dutch spiral -- it's one of my favorites. And the color mixes you used in this group? Love, love, love!

Oh my goodness - when did you sleep! I so love all your pieces and the tangerine color in the Dutch spiral makes me happy! I had a soft spot for your turquoise spiral - very organic! You need a nice long rest now!
ReplyDeleteOHMY!!!! Love the Dutch Spiral! Actually I love them all!!! What an inspiration you are... Thank you.
ReplyDeleteCrystie
Did I count right, 12 pieces ? ! ! ! Amazing. Each is of a superb quality. I have not tried Dutch spiral, now might be the time. Wonderful post, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see posts like yours I become thoroughly ashamed :) I was happy to finish *one* piece! LOL
ReplyDeleteNow joking aside - your pieces are just perfect: all colour mixes are lovely, all stitches are simply gorgeous, and each piece is in itself a work of art. Love them all!
So many beautiful pieces. I love all of them. My favourites are the teal spiral necklace and the knotted chenille necklace.
ReplyDeleteHoly moly what a stash of beady goodness! But I have to say your netting is to die for! LOVE
ReplyDeleteMy goodness!!! You are prolific to say the least. All these pieces are positively stunning....and I am so drawn to two of them especially - the final netted piece with all those vibrant colors...and the lovely orange spiral bracelet. Really, they're all gorgeous though!
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! You're a beadaholique! Your beaded collars are lovely, like all the other pieces. Eye candy!
ReplyDeleteSuch lush ribbon-like ropes. I love your work to bits. If only I had one-hundredth of your talent!
