It feels like it's been a long week, but Friday is finally here. I am so excited because my wonderful husband has surprised me with a new camera (a Canon 60D) and tomorrow we are going to the country for a photo adventure. I have been busy beading and although there have been several projects in between I am done "Colorado". I had purchased the keshi pearls and the large crystal focal sometime ago but couldn't decide how to use them. My ah ha moment came and I am really pleased with the outcome. My brain is overflowing with new project ideas and I can't wait to get started. Next.....more beads and more photos!

Whimsical whimsy..
It has finally rained and I feel so much better, snow mold and dust reek havoc on me and I was really getting low....but now I feel so much better and needed something a little whimsical. So with a few fun buttons and seed beads...here is my little "Whimsy". Paired with a matching beaded bracelet and earrings, the set evokes nothing but a happy mood.

...ode to the beautiful South West...
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, my husband and I traveled to Utah and the tip of Arizona this past fall. We fell in love with the south west and are eagerly planning our next trip. The red rocks, the sunrises and sunsets, were breathtaking. On a lark I searched on eBay for something I could use in my beading and I found this beauty. It so reminds me of the beautiful states we were lucky to travel to. I absolutely fell in love with it and when it arrived began work on "Sonora Sunrise". Although simple in design I think it is absolutely stunning in its simplicity.

Mystique
I was right in the middle, okay almost in the middle of a new creation, when I decided I needed a certain bead to continue on and do the piece justice. Of course, it's in the evening and I would have to wait until the weekend to hunt down the exact right bead. My hands were idle....not a good thing and so.....Mystique was born. I had in my stash a beautiful deep purple rose, I could see it on my wrist already and as the saying goes the rest is history....Although the bracelet looks quite blue in the picture, it is actually more purple like the rose. Now back to my original project, I am very excited to finish it because I did indeed find the exact color of pearl I was looking for.

...moon goddess
My latest creations uses one of the beautiful carved bone beads I found at Beak Freaks, a tiny little moon goddess. I have wanted to create a goddess for some time and that is how Moon Goddess of the Evening Garden came to be. I also added some sparkle using sequins (an inspiration from Sarah Sequins, thanks Sarah, you're the best) and swarovski crystals.

When my hubby and I were in Vancouver and although it poured rained.......
I did get the opportunity to take some photos. I love how chaotic this picture is.
