Got my mojo back...

I have been very busy lately but unfortunately I have had a beading block. I thought I would try a few projects using some different beading techniques, but the projects just weren't developing. I tried one (not finished), I tried another (not finished), I read blogs to get me in the right frame of mind, I looked at other artist's creations for inspiration, I was I must admit a little afraid that maybe my creativity was gone and then I came to my senses and started a project in an area that I love, bead embroidery. The creative juices just flowed and "Lindy" came to be in very quick order. My most wonderful sister Linda (Scattered Leaves) had brought me a turquoise focal bead  while on her adventures at Artfest, it was just beautiful. I paired it with some special crystal bicones and some drop crystals I had and I love the results. It was amazing I had all the different pieces in my stash already, just waiting to go into the right piece. I plan to finish the other projects (eventually) I have started but I have given myself permission to put aside or change directions if the creative juices slow.

Awesome weekend....

Back from a fabulous weekend of camping! I didn't get any beading done, although I wanted too, but the weather was so nice (a little windy) but very warm.  We spent most of the time outside. I took many, many pictures and did some carving. This week I plan on beading every night, I have a couple of projects almost done and I am excited to start on some ideas I have as well as a sequin cuff I can't wait to make.

Another spoon ,some beading, and nature too...

Went camping on the weekend, oh so nice to get away. The weather was less than perfect but sometimes that's okay. Nothing like being all snug in a warm cozy trailer and listening to the pitter patter of raindrops on the roof. There were moments though.....oh mother nature though art great.

As mentioned another spoon, I made this one for my husband and all his musical aspirations.

And finally a little necklace, I love mixing dark blues and turquoises. This one has crystals, seed beads, and glass teardrops.

Life is good...

Oh what a little green will do - definitely boosts the mood. The weather has been so weird  but the tulips and crocuses are up, the buds are on the trees and yes even the grass is starting to green.

We are so anticipating summer we have booked every weekend in May to go camping. I am super excited because I will finally be able to indulge in another passion of mine and that is carving welsh love spoons....which I only do when camping (not sure why).

I am set to go - a beading project in hand, a carving project or two and my brand new camera...can't wait.
My great friend Barbara has just launched her Etsy store  (http://www.etsy.com/shop/subdivodesigns?ref=ss_profilee
...very exciting and quite a surprise to me, congratulations are in order, beautiful earrings. I now have to get my butt in gear and get my Etsy store set up (that will be this week's project).
I have been busy beading. 'Teardrops'. I found this pattern in Seed Bead Fusion by Rachel Nelson-Smith and just knew I had to make it with my version of bead soup (a mix of seed beads, some left over glass teardrops, the odd crystal and various other glass beads.  A joy to wear. Love to all my beading friends.

yeah, it's Friday.....

It feels like it's been a long week, but Friday is finally here. I am so excited because my wonderful husband has surprised me with a new camera (a Canon 60D) and tomorrow we are going to the country for a photo adventure.  I have been busy beading and although there have been several projects in between I am done "Colorado".  I had purchased the keshi pearls and the large crystal focal sometime ago but couldn't decide how to use them. My ah ha moment came and I am really pleased with the outcome. My brain is overflowing with new project ideas and I can't wait to get started. Next.....more beads and more photos!

Whimsical whimsy..

It has finally rained and I feel so much better, snow mold and dust reek havoc on me and I was really getting low....but now I feel so much better and needed something a little whimsical. So with a few fun buttons and seed beads...here is my little "Whimsy". Paired with a matching beaded bracelet and earrings, the set evokes nothing but a happy mood.
