As promised...

I mentioned in my last post that I had "green" on my mind. Is it the coming of St.Patrick's day (and yes there is some Irish in my blood) or is it my desire for spring?  "Green Goddess" evokes thoughts of both for me. I absolutely love the cab and I got it for a song...... hmm maybe that's why I made the bird earrings to go with it. This piece is not as extensive as others I have done, but I think it's simplicity is what makes it so pretty.

Winter has finally shown up...

I guess we are getting payback for our little escape to some green. We have had a major snowfall..it is very pretty, and not really cold and after all how long can it last, were  almost into March. The snow covered everything but my garden gave me a little surprise..such a happy site.

I am very close to posting another beaded necklace, it's almost done and you will see I have green on the mind.. I should have it up this week.

I must confess I have a new passion..this one not so good for the waist line. While on the coast, my brother got me interested in making my own ice cream. Oh yum, yum, yum ... this is my first attempt and it is absolutely delicious - frozen Greek Strawberry yogurt. I will have to limit the amount I use my new toy, but I am so dying to try Maple Syrup Pecan ice cream.

A little green and all is well

My honey and I needed a little bit of green, so we headed to the coast for a long weekend. Just before leaving and in time to wear, I finished "Bluebirds in the Garden". Love, love, love it.  I wore it when we went out shopping and strangers actually stopped me and asked where I had purchased it. What a nice feeling to say that I had made it! My wonderful sister gave me the little bone birds, perfect match for the focal glass bead. Yellow swarovski pearls, dark green drops, dark green and turquoise glass beads and seed beads were used to complete my masterpiece.

While in Vancouver and out driving in the rain (wet but green), I spied out of the corner of my little eye a sign on a tiny little store front "Bead Freaks"....and oh yeah.... that is where I found these wonderful bone carved beads. The owner wasn't in but when I go back in September that's where I'm going to be. I can't wait to start creating with these beauties...

Love is in the air

It has taken me a little longer than usual to create "Queen of Hearts", life circumstances took over. Beading is very soothing and good for the soul though and thankfully it is ready to be worn... just in time for that special day. Made of pearls, crystals and seed beads, in reds, pinks and whites, it will make a bold statement when worn. Perhaps my valentine will find me so irresistible that he will insist on taking me out for a romantic dinner for two.

Thoughts of spring lay heavy on my mind.....

Oh to be spring and under the cherry trees in Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver.

My "Sakura" necklace was inspired with that thought in mind. Sakura (cherry tree blossom) is said to signify beauty, life, femininity and good luck. It is said that the cherry blossom showers a person with love and happiness.

"Sakura" was made with Swarovski pearls and crystals, fresh water pearls and seed beads. The cherry blossoms are lucite beads with pearl centers.

Winter is here....

Through rain or sleek or snow or shine, the boys still insist on a walk. Don't they know there's beading to be done, but who could resist these faces.

Not just a beader

My husband and I traveled to Arches National Park in September and had the most amazing adventure. This is jaw dropping, breathe taking, utterly awe inspiring, beautiful country, so much so we are planning on making another trip this fall.  I loved the land, the cliffs, the colors, the people, I loved everything. This is my kind of heaven on earth.

Besides beading I love photography and turning my photos into paintings...the lizard was a picture I took in Hawaii and the rose was in my yard.

 Enjoy:)
